To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services how many mastectomies were performed in England and Wales for(a) female patients and (b) male patients in the latest two-month period for which figures are available.

The information is not available centrally in the form requested. Statistics in respect of the last complete year for which information is available are given in the table. Information for Wales is a matter for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Wales.
