HC Deb 22 February 1988 vol 128 cc61-2W
Mr. Tony Banks

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, pursuant to his reply of 13 January,Official Report, columns 275–77, what percentage of former Greater London council assets which passed to the London residuary body are now estimated to have been disposed of.

Mr. Chope

The London residuary body has disposed of Thamesmead and the industrial portfolia. Substantial progress has been made towards the disposal of the seaside and country homes and properties in Covent Garden. County hall and about 500 residential units are being marketed. Of the remaining 1,620 properties which the LRB inherited and are considered marketable, terms have been agreed in about 50 per cent. of cases. Properties required by successors for functional purposes will be transferred to them.
