§ Mr. McCrindleTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he is satisfied with the working of the Interception of Communications Act, with particular regard to mobile telephones; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. HurdI have no reason to believe that there are any difficulties over the working of the Interception of Communications Act in this respect. The interception of calls on mobile telephone systems which have been designated as public telecommunication systems under the Telecommunications Act 1984 is covered by the Interception of Communications Act 1985.
