To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will make a further statement on the payments to date of urban regeneration grants.

Mr. Trippier

Since urban regeneration grant was introduced, five offers of grant totalling £9.85 million have been made for projects in Manchester, Dudley and Liverpool. This grant is expected to attract £42.3 million of private investment into these areas. Approval in principle has been given to a project in Blackburn.
