§ Mr. Michael SpicerThe total amount of voted expenditure in 1986–87 for which the Secretary of State for Energy was directly responsible was £1,663.2 million. Of this, £188.3 million, or 11.3 per cent., was in connection with nuclear energy and £1,452.8 million, or 87.3 per cent., in connection with other forms of energy — the remainder being expenditure in relation to Departmental administrative costs. On the basis of our latest forecast outturn for 1987–88, the corresponding figures are: nuclear 12.3 per cent. and other forms of energy 86.1 per cent.
