Mr. Robin Cook

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) if he will give the capital spending on the hospital and community health services for each National Health Service region and for the special health authorities (i) in cash terms, (ii) adjusted using the gross domestic product deflator and (iii) adjusted using the National Health Service pay and prices index;

(2) if he will give the capital spending on hospital and community services in net terms after deducting proceeds from land and property sales (i) in cash terms and (ii) adjusted using the gross domestic product deflator.
