To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will make a statement on the level of compliance with the Game Licences Act 1860; and if he will make a statement.

I refer the hon. Member to the reply my hon. Friend gave to a previous question from the hon. Member on 25 January, at column 2, giving details of the convictions for offences under the Game Licences Act 1860.

The level of compliance is of course very difficult to ascertain with precision. However, the Government are concerned that poaching offences should be pursued with all possible vigour, and we believe that the police share this concern.
