To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will make a statement on the future of university education in Wales.

Mr. Jackson

Government policy towards the universities, set out in "Higher Education: Meeting the Challenge" (Cm. 114) and elsewhere, applies to Great Britain as a whole, and makes no distinctive provision as regards Wales.
