To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what steps he is taking to improve the health service in Clwyd; and if he will make a statement.

[holding answer 15 February 1988]: Clwyd will benefit from the increased resources of £69.8 million which is being made available to the National Health Service in Wales in 1988–89. Net resources available to the National Health Service in Wales in 1988–89 in real terms will be 39 per cent. above what it was in 1978–79.
