Mr. Bill Walker

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how much public money has been spent in Angus, Scotland, to promote tourism in 1984, 1985 and 1986.

Mr. Lang

The main source of public sector support for tourism in Angus are the Scottish Tourist Board and Angus district council. Figures for expenditure in the financial years 1984–85, 1985–86 and 1986–87 were £118,999, £205,000 and £240,000 respectively. They include public sector assistance for the Angus tourist board.
