To ask the Secretary of Slate for Scotland if for 1986 he will give the number of planning appeals against local authorities and the number that were successful.

In 1986 decisions were issued on 542 planning permission appeals under section 33 of the Town and Country (Planning) Scotland Act 1972. Of these 193 appeals (36 per cent.) were sustained.
