To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster if his Department maintains an approved list of companies for the purposes of grants towards management, financial, organisational and other consultancies.

Under the enterprise initiative consultancy schemes, which currently cover marketing, design, quality and manufacturing systems, the selection and deployment of consultants is a matter for the scheme contractors who operate on behalf of the DTI. Similar arrangements will be made for the new consultancy initiatives on business planning and financial and information systems to be introduced in April.
