19. Mr. Baldrey

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services what was the number of(a) in-patients and (b) out-patients treated in the Oxfordshire health district in 1979 and in the last year for which figures are available.

Mrs. Currie

There were 69,306 in-patient cases treated and 344,852 out-patient attendances in 1979 in this health district; in 1986 the comparable figures were 80,420 and 374,680.

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services how many in-patients and out-patients were treated under the National Health Service in 1978 and the latest available year.
