HC Deb 09 February 1988 vol 127 cc168-9W
18. Mr. Bidwell

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services how many district general managers have resigned from the National Health Service over the past two years, identified by district; if he will show for each such manager the sector of employment prior to contract with the National Health Service; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Newton

Nine out of a total of 191. This represents a turnover rate of 2 per cent. per annum, which I understand is below average for posts at this level in large scale organistions. The other information is as follows:

District Previous employment
West Surrey and North East Hants Banking
Central Birmingham Armed forces

District Previous employment
Macclesfield Company director
Nottingham Communications industry
Bexley Armed forces
Bromley Armed forces
South Bedfordshire Company director
Rochdale National Health Service
