§ 62. Mr. Anthony CoombsTo ask the Secretary of State for Social Services what steps he has taken to ensure that the distribution of funds to both regional and district health authorities reflects their relative efficiency as well as their need.
§ Mr. NewtonOur general policy is to bring the allocation of resources to regions gradually closer to targets based on their relative health needs as assessed by the resource allocation working party formula. In judging the pace of change, however, we seek to take account of all relevant factors; and we urge regions in turn to take account of all relevant factors in determining their allocations to districts.
§ 69. Mr. Nicholas BakerTo ask the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will allocate additional money to health authorities to finance revenue costs of money raised by voluntary efforts.
