HC Deb 05 February 1988 vol 126 c765W
Mr. Morgan

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what is the average time taken in each county in Wales from the day of application for a fair rent to the actual registration of rent, in the latest year for which figures are available.

Mr. Grist

The following table contains information on the median interval between date of application to registration by the rent officer. The intervals include a period of not less than seven and not more than 14 days in which both landlord and tenant have the right to request a consultation. Where a consultation is requested at least seven days' notice must be given by the rent officer, except where a landlord application involves service charges in which case 14 days notice must be given.
