Dr. ThomasTo ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will list(a) those secondary schools in each local education authority in Wales in which a second modern language, besides Welsh, is taught between the ages of 11 and 16 years and (b) those schools and other educational institutions catering for 16 to 18-year-olds, in which two, or more, modern languages are taught, other than the Welsh language, post 16 years old.
§ Mr. Wyn RobertsInformation from the 1984 secondary school staffing survey indicates that a modern langage other than Welsh and English was undertaken within year groups I to V in virtually all maintained secondary schools in Wales. Comparable information for schools in which two or more modern languages other than Welsh and English were taught to pupils aged 16 and over is not available.
