To ask the Secretary of State for Employment how much revenue was earned by short-break holidays in England in 1987.

No estimate is available for the amount earnt by all short break holidays in England in 1987. However, spending on one to three night holidays taken by British residents in England in the first 10 months of 1987 is estimated to be £800 million.
