HC Deb 02 February 1988 vol 126 cc550-1W
35. Mr. Snape

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment when he expects to make a decision on the expansion of job training scheme child care payments under the pilot scheme to all job training scheme managing agents.

103. Mr. Bill Michie

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what plans he has to increase the take-up of the job training scheme child care payment system.

Mr. Cope

Decisions will be taken when the present pilot scheme comes to an end later this month.

42. Mr. Barron

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment whether he will expand the payment for child care facilities for single parents on job training schemes to two-parent families where both are in employment.

Mr. Cope

No. Child care payments are being made by the MSC only to unemployed single parents who join the new job training scheme in 10 areas where this arrangement is being piloted. Parents are normally responsible for making their own child care arrangements.
