HC Deb 01 February 1988 vol 126 c506W
58. Ms. Ruddock

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport whether he has met the chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority to discuss the London City airport; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Peter Bottomley

My right hon. Friend has had no recent meeting with the chairman to discuss London City airport. The chairman did call on him in December to tell him of the possible suspension of flights between London City airport and Paris pending the outcome of an inquiry. That inquiry concluded in January that flights could safely be resumed, and I am pleased to say they are now running normally.
