HC Deb 01 February 1988 vol 126 c505W
53. Mr. Evennett

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what is his Department's estimate of the changes in the volume and patterns of traffic using the A2 if the east London river crossing is constructed.

Mr. Channon

The Department's estimate, given at the public inquiry into the East London river crossing, was that traffic volume on the A2 would increase by between 15 and 25 per cent. in the area of its junction with ELRC and by about 5 per cent. in the Dartford area.
