Mr. Meale

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will make it his policy to publish annually information on the sales of National Health Service property and land in each district health authority area.

Mr. Freeman

Information on property sales by district health authorities will be available centrally for the first time from about June of next year. Information will then be available on request.

Mr. Meale

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will list the sales, with sums received by the Trent regional health authority, for the sale of National Health Service properties and land since 1979.

Mr. Mellor

The information requested is set out in the table. It excludes transactions of less than one acre or of less than £50,000. All proceeds from disposals are retained by health authorities for reinvestment in the Service.
