To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department pursuant to the answer to the hon. Member for Brent, East of 14 March,Official Report, columns 423–24, if he will call for a report from the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis as to when a decision was taken not to refer the matter of the loss of documents to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

No; in the circumstances set out in my reply to the hon. Member on 14 March the question of referring the matter to the Director of Public Prosections did not arise.
