HC Deb 26 April 1988 vol 132 c87W
Mr. Cohen

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what information he has about the level of the administrative charge made for issuing retirement pensioners concessionary travel passes in London; what is the reason for the charge; how it is calculated; by how much it has changed since the last review; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. David Mitchell

The present concessionary travel arrangements for pensioners on LRT services in London are provided by agreement between LRT and the London local authorities. Permits continue to be issued free of charge to pensioners. I understand that certain of the administrative costs incurred by LRT and the Post Office are reimbursed by the participating local authorities who also fund the cost of the concession.
