(2) what information he has as to police investigations of ultra vires payments by student unions in each year since 1970.
Mr. JacksonThe criminal courts would be involved in relation to ultra vires payments only to the extent that a criminal offence might also have been committed. I understand that my right hon. Friend the Home Secretary does not hold information centrally on prosecutions or police investigations in sufficient detail to identify any involving student unions or their officers.
