HC Deb 25 April 1988 vol 132 cc72-3W
Mr. Cohen

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what arrangements are made for the use of military training areas by(a) foreign military units based in the United Kingdom and (b) foreign troops and aircraft temporarily stationed in the United Kingdom; whether any payments are made for the use of these facilities; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Freeman

Bilateral agreements exist with a number of NATO and other foreign forces covering their use of military training areas in the United Kingdom. Detailed arrangements in each case differ, but such agreements may include the waiver of charges where reciprocal use is made by British forces of training areas in the visiting force's country.
