§ Mr. Peter BottomleyOur 1985 White Paper "Airports Policy" (Cmnd. 9542) set out the pattern of development of airport capacity, including runway capacity, to meet London area demand into the mid-1990s. The first step in any further work is the preparation of up to date forecasts of air travel demand. The Department is preparing such forecasts, which it expects to publish towards the end of this year.
