§ Mr. Norman Hoggasked the Secretary of State for Scotland when his Department last conducted a survey of safety standards of National Health Service X-ray equipment.
§ Mr. Michael ForsythX-ray equipment in use in the Scottish Health Service is subjected to regular maintenance and safety checks under maintenance agreements made by health boards. In addition, the equipment is subject to regular inspections by the board's radiation protection adviser to check radiation output levels and radiation safety aspects.
