HC Deb 26 October 1987 vol 121 c141W
Mr. Wray

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he will be seeking funds from central Government for a crime prevention campaign in Glasgow similar to that recently funded by the Home Department in London for the Metropolitan police campaign.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

In common with the rest of Scotland, Glasgow already benefits from the substantial contribution which the Government make towards crime prevention through, for example, the 51 per cent. specific grant on police expenditure, the community programme national crime prevention initiative and the urban programme. In addition, the Government have allocated £250,000 to crime prevention publicity measures in Scotland in the current financial year.
