HC Deb 26 October 1987 vol 121 cc57-8W
Mr. Beith

asked the Secretary of State for Transport what representations he has received on behalf of air traffic controllers calling for an inquiry into air traffic services and whether he has any plans to set up such an inquiry.

Mr. Peter Bottomley

My right hon. Friend has received representations from the Guild of Air Traffic Controllers for an independent inquiry into the infrastructure, organisation and efficiency of air traffic services in the United Kingdom. He was not persuaded that an inquiry of the kind suggested by the guild was justified.
