§ Mr. Michael Morrisasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether, in the light of three year losses, he will now call for a formal report on the Northampton borough council engineers direct labour department; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. ChopeNorthampton borough council has not sent the Department a copy of its 1986–87 direct labour organisation report yet. Previous reports show that the DLO made a loss on highways work in only one of the three preceding years. Therefore, there is at present no case for requiring the council to prepare a special report.
