§ Mr. GummerThe first five environmentally sensitive areas in England were successfully launched on 1 March. We intend to invite applications in five new areas from 1 January 1988 and to expand the existing South Downs area. In the United Kingdom as a whole, eight areas have been designated and a further 11 are planned.
