HC Deb 12 November 1987 vol 122 c272W
Mr. Wray

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make it one of his priorities for patients to have more freedom to choose their own doctors, and take all the steps necessary to put such a policy into practice.

Mr. Michael Forsyth

The existing arrangements whereby patients may choose their doctors are currently being considered by my right hon. and learned Friend in the course of the review of primary health care, which followed publication of the Government's consultative document "Primary Health Care: An Agenda for Discussion". The conclusions reached on this review will be announced shortly.
