§ Mr. WrayTo ask the Secretary of State for Social Services if, in view of the rise in alcoholism amongst young people, he will consider placing(a) a ban on the advertising of alcohol at sporting events and places of public entertainment and (b) a Government health warning on all advertisements for alcohol and alcohol-related products.
§ Mrs. CurrieThe question of young people and alcohol and the factors which might influence their drinking habits are to be discussed by the ministerial group on alcohol misuse. At its first meeting on 3 November the group agreed that the reported level of drinking among young people was a matter for concern and should be addressed as a priority.
We await the outcome of the group's deliberations.
