HC Deb 09 November 1987 vol 122 cc72-3W
17. Mr. Snape

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will make a statement on the level and quality of services in British Rail's Network SouthEast.

Mr. David Mitchell

Over much of the south-east services are either meeting or approaching the quality of service targets. But there is room for improvement. I am monitoring the situation closely. Satisfactory standards on certain routes are dependent upon projected investment being completed.

45. Dr. Marek

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what action he proposes to take on the findings of the inquiry conducted by the Monopolies and Mergers Commission into Network SouthEast.

59. Mr. Robin Cook

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what action he proposes to take on the findings of the inquiry conducted by the Monopolies and Mergers Commission into Network SouthEast.

Mr. David Mitchell

I am discussing the report with British Rail, which will be making its formal response in the new year.
