§ Mr. SainsburyThe total number of full-time equivalent civilian staff, excluding casual staff, employed by the Ministry of Defence on 1 October 1987 was 145,910 of whom 140,524 were based in the United Kingdom. Of these 5,947 were based in Wales and 1,236 in Clwyd.
