HC Deb 09 November 1987 vol 122 c12W
Mr. Winnick

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if it is intended for his Department to give technical advice to the Walsall metropolitan borough council regarding carrying out repairs to the Wimpey no fines properties in Walsall; and if he will make a statement;

Mr. Waldegrave

[holding answer 2 November 1987]: It is for Walsall borough council to reach its own decisions on these matters. However, the Building Research Advisory Service can provide technical advice on repairs and improvements to Wimpey no fines properties, should this be requested by Walsall borough council.

Mr. Winnick

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if extra financial assistance will be given in the current financial year if requested by the Walsall metropolitan council for repairs to be carried out to the Wimpey no fines properties in the Blakenhall area of the borough; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Waldegrave

[holding answer 2 November 1987]: My right hon. Friend announced on 3 November that £44.7 million will be made available for additional HIP allocations this year, for various purposes; but no decisions have yet been made on the authorities which should receive them.
