§ Mr. Donald ThompsonThe new planning provisions for expenditure on agriculture, fisheries and food, announced by my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer in his Autumn Statement, include reductions of £5 million and £10 million respectively for 1989–90 arid 1990–91 to reflect the changing balance between public arid industry funding which the Government consider desirable for research and development work.
