§ Mr. Peter BottomleyWe have recently issued a leaflet on speed control humps to local authorities to help them assess where these might be appropriate and to advise them on technical aspects. It is for local authorities to decide where local circumstances make their use desirable. The Department does not approve or monitor individual installations of speed control humps or other local authority road and traffic measures.
