§ Mr. Bowisasked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will make a statement about the future of the new workers scheme.
§ Mr. LeeAs announced by the Chancellor of the Exchequer in his statement on 3 November, the new workers scheme will close on 31 January next year. Applications for support in respect of jobs starting up to and including that date will be considered, provided they are received within 13 weeks of the job start date. Payment of support in respect of applications already approved is not affected.
