HC Deb 02 November 1987 vol 121 cc604-5W
Mr. John David

Taylor asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what is the total possible membership of the Southern health and social services area board; how many members presently serve on this board; how many members voted (a) for and (b) against the proposed new £2 million area board health headquarters at the board meeting this month; and how many of those who voted for this new headquarters are (i) elected councillors and (ii) non-elected persons nominated by him for board membership.

Mr. Needham

There are currently 24 places on the Southern health and social services board, one of which is vacant. At the October meeting of the board a proposal to rescind the decision taken in January to provide a new headquarters building pending further information and discussion was defeated by five votes to seven. The votes of individual members were not recorded.
