Mr. Flynn

asked the Secretary of State for Energy whether in the light of the statements submitted on past Central Electricity Generating Board plutonium use by Lord Marshall, chairman of the Central Electricity Generating Board, on 15 October, he now has anything to add to the statement made by the then Minister in his Department, the right hon. Member for Croydon, Central (Mr. Moore) on 4 February 1983, at column 206.

asked the Secretary of State for Energy (1) in what way the plutonium with plutonium-Z40 content less than 15 percent. produced at Trawsfynydd Magnox reactors (a) between 1965 and 31st March 1969 and (b) between 1st April 1969 and the present, has been disposed of;

(2) whether he has any further information on the uses to which Central Electricity Generating Board plutonium has been put further to the statement made by his right hon. Friend, the Member for Croydon, Central (Mr. Moore) on 4 February 1983, at column 206; and if he will make a statement.

asked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will publish tables of (a) the annual amount of spent nuclear fuel dispatched and (b) the annual amount of plutonium created, each by date and quantity, in the Trawsfynydd Magnox nuclear plant in the periods 1965 to March 1969 inclusive, April 1969 to April 1979 inclusive, and May 1979 to the present date.

asked the Secretary of State for Energy whether there have been any recent requests from the United States government concerning the availability of British plutonium for export to the United States of America for (a) civil and (b) military uses.

Exports of plutonium to the United States for civil purposes take place from time to time. The destinations and quantities are commercially confidential.
