asked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will now make it his policy to publish a weekly input/ output table, backdated to 1 January, of spent Magnox fuel arising from civil Magnox reactors, together with the arisings of resulting depleted uranium and plutonium stocks for the throughput at the Windscale B205 reprocessor plant at British Nuclear Fuels Limited plc Sellafield.

asked the Secretary of State for Energy whether he has received any recent request for permission to sell nuclear reprocessing technology to Japan.

Mr. Michael Spicer

Yes. As a result the Government have exchanged notes with the Japanese Government under which we have received assurances as to the use to which this should be put, in line with the policy laid down by the then Foreign Secretary in a parliamentary answer on 31 March 1976 at columns514–16.
