HC Deb 02 November 1987 vol 121 c585W
Mr. Winnick

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what further consultations have taken place between officials of his Department and Walsall metropolitan borough council regarding the state of the Wimpey no fines properties in the Blakenall area of the borough.

Mr. Waldegrave

There have been no further discussions since the Department's officers met Walsall metropolitan borough council on 16 September to discuss its overall housing programme; the matters discussed there, including the condition of Wimpey no fines properties, will be taken into account when we decide the HIP allocations for 1988–89.

Mr. Winnick

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if it is intended for the Minister for Housing or another Minister in his Department to visit the Wimpey no fines properties in Walsall; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Waldegrave

We have no current plans to do so; however, as my reply to the hon. Member of 21 October explained (Vol. 120, Cols.829–830), the Department's officials are keeping Ministers fully informed of the position.
