HC Deb 05 May 1987 vol 115 cc391-2W
Dr. David Clark

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if, under the new EEC regulation aimed at establishing uniform forest health surveys, he has assessed the number of sampling points that would need to be looked at under the agreed grid system; and if Northern Ireland will be included in the Government's 1987 tree health survey.

Mr. Viggers

The Department of Agriculture has assessed that the number of sampling points needed for the European Community survey will be approximately 52. Northern Ireland will take part in the EC survey but has not been included in the Forestry Commission 1987 tree health survey.
