HC Deb 05 May 1987 vol 115 cc320-1W
Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for Wales whether his Department has sought to obtain cardiac services for National Health Service patients in Gwynedd or Clwyd by purchasing such services from private practitioners in England; and if he will make a statement on his policy on this matter.

Mr. Mark Robinson

My Department is presently exploring with the appropriate district health authorities a range of options to secure early improvement in cardiac services to patients in north Wales, including the provision of the service by private sector hospitals. No decision has yet been made.
