§ Mr. EggarWe have received letters from right hon. and hon. Members, individuals and organisations on the subject of Nicaragua, including our relations with Nicaragua. In reply, we have made clear that we have normal diplomatic relations with Nicaragua, but that we want to see Nicaragua end its support for guerrillas in neighbouring countries and make progress towards genuine pluralist democracy.
§ 54. Mr. Wareingasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what recent discussions he has had with representatives of the United States Government about United States policy on Nicaragua, with particular reference to support for the Contras.
§ Mr. EggarMy right hon. and learned Friend and other Ministers and officials regularly discuss important issues, including the situation in central America, with the United States Administration and they are fully aware of our views.
