HC Deb 13 March 1987 vol 112 c323W
Mr. Speed

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what restrictions on practice small arms and artillery ammunition are currently being imposed upon units of the Army.

Mr. Freeman

In common with other types of training ammunition, the various small arms and artillery natures are subject to limits on annual consumption. These are expressed as a number of rounds per gun rather than on a unit basis. Additional temporary or local restrictions may also be set from time to time, for example for safety or environmental reasons.
