HC Deb 09 March 1987 vol 112 cc1-2W
Mr. Heffer

asked the Lord Privy Seal if he will list in the Official Report the names of hon. and right hon. Members who, prior to the resolution of the Select Committee on House of Commons (Services) of 17 February concerning taxis at the Members' Entrance, made representations to the Committee for a change in the arrangements; how many representations for the rescission of that resolution have been made since 17 February; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Biffen

Five representations from hon. or right hon. Members are recorded on file as having been made prior to 17 February 1987. Other less formal complaints have been made orally to members of the Services Committee from time to time. It is not customary to identify individual complainants.

Since 17 February, four representations have been received urging reconsideration of the Service Committee's resolution, two of which have come from hon. Members, including one from the hon. Member for Liverpool, Walton himself. I have referred these representations in the first instance to the Accommodation and Administration Sub-Committee.
