§ Mr. Wareingasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what representations he has received about the erection of a resource recovery and power generation plant at Stonebridge lane, Gillmoss in Liverpool; what discussions he has had with representatives of Liverpool city council about the matter; and if he will now reconsider his decision not to establish a full public inquiry.
§ Mr. MoynihanSeventy-eight representations have been received about the proposed plant. Her Majesty's district inspector of pollution has discussed the general principles of the design with Liverpool city council, and further detailed examination and discussions will be necessary before he would be in a position to register the plant for air pollution control purposes. My right hon. Friend still sees no justification for holding a full public inquiry into these proposals.
